TECHNOLOGY, Samsung Stokes 7-inch Tablet War with Galaxy Tab 7 Plus

Just two days after Amazon made waves announcing its new 7-inch tablet at a $199, Samsung wants to douse the Kindle Fire with a reloaded 7-inch Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It's not likely Samsung will be able to compete on price - given the beefy specs on this tab - but it will be competitive when it comes to speeds and feeds. Friday's announcement by Samsung doesn't mention price.

The Specs
For starters there's a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor running Android Honeycomb 3.2, front and rear cameras shooting 2 megapixels and 3 megapixels, respectively, and HSPA+ connectivity. Samsung is pitching the "enhanced portability" of this Galaxy Tab hard, with its thinner and lighter body, measuring 9.96mm wide and weighing in at 345g.
Other specs include 1 GB of RAM, the familiar 16GB and 32 GB storage options, 1024 x 600 resolution, HD video recording and playback up to 1080p, with the Samsung TouchWiz interface over top of it all.
Stoking the Tablet War Fires
While the timing could be a coincidence, coming just two days after the Amazon announcement, it feels like part of Samsung's notion is to revamp its 7-incher and show off all the bells and whistles that are missing in the Kindle Fire.
Samsung says the tablet will be available starting in Indonesia and Austria in late October and gradually rolled out globally including the US and Europe.

TECHNOLOGY, iPhone 5 MIA as 10 Million Samsung Galaxy S IIs Ship

Samsung has managed to ship more than 10 million Galaxy S II Android smartphones even before hitting the U.S. market, while Apple’s iPhone 5 remains just a rumor. Samsung released the phone in global markets five months ago, but its arrival in the U.S. is expected to clash with the launch of the iPhone 5.
The Galaxy S II is the fastest-selling phone in Samsung’s history, the company says. Shipments are impressive for any Android phone manufacturer, although not exactly in the same league as the iPhone 4, a year-old phone which sold more than 20 million units in the second quarter of this year alone. It’s also worth noting that Samsung’s numbers do not reflect how many customers actually bought the S II model.
Samsung’s Galaxy S II is a svelte phone (although not thinner than the iPhone 4) with a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera to capture 1080p HD video, and a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video calling. The U.S. version of the phone will have slight variations to the specs. Sprint’s S II, available now, features a slightly larger 4.52-inch screen (as does the T-Mobile version), while the AT&T version, due October 2, does not depart form the standard specs.

Speculation grew all summer about Apple’s iPhone 5, with conflicting reports of a new model with a larger screen, a model similar to the iPhone 4 with improved specs, or both. The only consistent expectation is the use of the dual-core A5 processor (from the iPad 2) and a better, possibly 8-megapixel, camera.
But Apple is keeping everyone guessing over when the iPhone 5 will arrive. The latest hints emerged from reportedly manufacturing some 22 million new iPhones to sell by the end of this year.

Samsung Galaxy S Iithe T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is a bit different than the AT & T and Sprint versions have we seen. Instead of a Samsung Exynos processor, the phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 is 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It supports also near field communication (NFC) for mobile payments, in contrast to the Sprint version, the epic touch 4 G. (the AT & T version supports NFC, however). This is very good news such as Google of its NFC app just Google Wallet.
We saw the T-Mobile Galaxy S short on the US-Galaxy-S II event in New York in August to start II, but we were not allowed to touch it. The phone has the same size Super AMOLED plus shows as the epic touch 4 G-4, 52 customs - and seems more laps, as the two other versions.
The Galaxy S II runs under Android 2.3.5 with custom overlay of Samsung TouchWiz 4.0, about it. The Galaxy S II costs $229.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate card and requires a two-year contract.
HTC surprise 4 G
HTC surprised the Galaxy S 4GWhile II is certainly an exciting addition to the line-up, I am more excited about the HTC 4 G amaze. The 4 G amaze is a camera-oriented phone, which has about an 8-megapixel back-illuminated sensor and a wide range of shooting modes.
Camera phone HTC and T-Mobile teamed up on the last was the T-Mobile MyTouch 4 G slide, we had declared the best camera on a Smartphone to date. How the MyTouch 4 G slide, the 4 G 1080p HD video capture, amaze a HDR shooting, a panorama mode, and claims zero shutter lag.
The amaze S3 processor as the Galaxy S II has the same Qualcomm and runs Android 2.3.4. T-Mobile the amaze says HTC also runs through the gingerbread OS 4 G, but I suspect that we will see a similar camera user interface as the MyTouch 4 G slide used, that is not on other phones HTC sense.
The amaze is a super qHD has 4.3-Zoll-LCD-Display and also NFC support. Kudos to T-Mobile for sending not one but two telephones with NFC right in time with the launch of Google Wallet to support.
The HTC 4 G amaze costs $260 to a $50 mail-in rebate card with a two year contract from T-Mobile.

The Sonic 4 G can up to five enabled Wi-Fi devices, such as connect laptop, iPad, camera, etc.. Manufactured by Huawei, the Sonic weighs only 3.88 grams and is equipped with SD card slot that expandable memory can contain up to 32 GB. It has also a small OLED display, shows signal strength, number of devices connected, the number of unread text messages, connect to the Internet, battery level, and network connection type.
In October, the Sonic is available online and T-Mobile retail, but price was not announced.

TECHNOLOGY, Samsung Galaxy tab 8.9 Tablet; pre-order Oct. 2

Samsung announced on Monday that the Samsung Galaxy tab 8.9 Android Tablet is now available for pre-order, and ship October 2.
The 16 GB tab 8.9 is priced at $469 and 32 GB tab 8.9 is priced at $569. Note: prices for Galaxy tab 10.1 tablets with similar capabilities are only about $30 over its tab, 8, 9 counterparts.
The tab 8.9 showed first from earlier in this year, together with the Galaxy-tab 10.1 at the CTIA Show in Orlando. It was originally expected to be delivered in the summer of 2011.

What we have already seen is this size-T-Mobile G slate-showed that 8.9 inches could indeed be a dark horse-sweet-spot for the breakdown. It is a nice compromise between the bigger screens of tablets such as Apple's iPad 2 and the tab-10.1 and compact 7-inch models, such as Acer Iconia tab A100.
The Galaxy-tab-8, 9 may a smaller screen than the 10.1 tab, but it corresponds to the 10, 1-inch sibling in one respect: it measures only 0.34 inches deep.
In my tests I found the G Board to have pleasing proportions in the hand. It is large enough to enjoy the view and get much words on the screen, but small enough be unobtrusive. His rival, the G slate was bulky and felt the every bit his 1.39 pounds. This question should be no problem with the tab, 8.9, which weighs only 0.99 kg; This is 0.25 of a pound less than its sibling, the Galaxy-tab 10.1.
The new Tablet TouchWiz UX interface has some strong features for customization, as well as for image processing and interface tweaks bodies navigate the Android operating system 3.1 honeycomb easier than using the Commons Combs.
