South Korea police test Samsung card on data breach

Seoul (Reuters)-South Korean police said they had begun investigating the Samsung card on the alleged leakage of personal information about your customers.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said in a statement on Thursday that an official of Samsung Card was suspected of leaking the personal details of 800,000 customers.

Thursday afternoon to get evidence on the case the police raided the headquarters of the company Seoul.

Local newspaper the Chosun Ilbo quoted a company official as saying that the suspect appeared to have sold the information to providers of illegal spam.

The incident follows similar data breaches including a customer segmentation hacker attack SK communications in July and massive network failure in Nonghyup commercial bank in April.

South Korea recently drafted a cyber security plan after a wave of attacks against global agencies, companies and their own financial companies of hacking.

Shares in Samsung card slid 2.2% 0014 GMT.
