WellPoint, IBM tie for medical technology-data

No "> (Reuters)-U.S. health insurer WellPoint Inc and computer giant IBM has agreed to use commercially IBM Watson technology that could help doctors identify the best treatment options.

The new system to be developed will have the ability to analyze large amounts of medical literature and reach, at best, treatment solutions, the companies said in a statement.

WellPoint expects to employ technology of Watson, after IBM founder Thomas Watson, early next year and would work with select groups in medical clinical pilots.
